About The Position

Satellite Instructional Assistant Full-time, 191 days per year. Responsibilities include three important questions to ask: What is best for students? How can I make life easier for the classroom teacher and support the functions of the school? How can I support the administration/front office. The Satellite Instructional Assistants’ duties include, but are not limited to: Teaching and Assisting, Other Duties.

Requirements

• Expected hours: 40 per week
• 8 hour shift Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

• May be assigned to teach reading and math group
• Lesson preparations, grading, and tracking student data are expected
• Substitute as needed in classrooms
• Monitor student behavior, effort, and performance
• Proctoring MAP and state assessments (will be trained in these areas)
• Supporting as needed in the administrative area
• Supporting during lunch room duty
• Helping to support and hold students accountable for expectations
• Supporting in the front office as needed
• Modeling and representing James Irwin Charter Schools in a positive way
• Serving in car line supervision
• Able to do basic accounting and deposits
• Adept at working with computers (Word, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint)
• Excellent organization skills
