About The Position

Choral Assistant Trinity Valley School | Fort Worth, Texas Part-time (25 hours/week) | Starting August 2026 About This Opportunity From middle school students just finding their voices to upper school students developing greater depth and complexity in their performances - our choral program is growing, and it's offering more students new and exciting ways to discover the power of music. This is an opportunity for a motivated, organized musician to grow alongside a program where every student is seen, challenged, and supported. We're looking for someone who keeps that big picture purpose front-of-mind during the day-to-day work of running sectionals, playing accompaniment, coordinating logistics, and more.

Requirements

  • Degree in music (music education, performance, or other music degrees).
  • Strong piano skills, ideally able to play multiple parts simultaneously and accompany choirs with confidence.
  • Organizational skills that complement creative work.
  • Ability to handle administrative details, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Comfort with technology and ability to learn platforms like Opus and Canvas.
  • Ability to record, edit, and upload audio with care and efficiency.
  • Genuine interest in students as whole people, aiming to help them improve musically and personally.
  • Value accountability: holding students to high standards, keeping oneself on track, and helping colleagues stay focused and organized.
  • Collaborative spirit, understanding that great programs are built through partnership.

Responsibilities

  • Accompany on piano during rehearsals.
  • Lead sectionals.
  • Help students prepare for honor choir auditions and performances.
  • Guide sections when the Choir Director works with another section.
  • Manage sheet music orders.
  • Coordinate with the business office on check requests.
  • Track data for honor choirs.
  • Create and upload recordings to Opus.
  • Help write grant requests.
  • Serve as the liaison between the choral program and key staff members.
  • Coordinate special events like national anthems at games and pep rally performances.
