About The Position

Saint Francis Middle School in Roswell seeks a dynamic, experienced Reading teacher to join its Middle School team. This is a full-time, in-person position. The teacher will deliver reading instruction to students with differing ability levels, follow the designated curriculum, assess student progress, manage the classroom, and communicate with parents. The position also includes participation in faculty meetings and professional development. Opportunities to lead or assist with extracurricular activities, such as clubs and sports, are available for additional stipends. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
Strong communication skills.

Proven track record of success in the classroom.
Collaborative approach and willingness to follow designated curriculum outlines.

Responsibilities

Follow curriculum outlines designated by the Department Head and Curriculum Coordinator to support consistency within each grade level and continuity between grade levels.
Present instruction using multiple modalities and account for students’ different ability levels.
Present material in reasonable segments to support students’ understanding and internalization of new concepts.
Review and reinforce teaching strategies to help students retain and internalize material.
Assign reasonable amounts of homework so students can practice skills taught in school.
Administer assessments to evaluate student progress.
Implement appropriate classroom management procedures.
Maintain communication with parents by email and phone.
Meet with parents for formal and informal conferences and provide feedback.
Participate in faculty meetings and professional development.
Lead or assist in extracurricular activities such as clubs and sports, if desired.
