About The Position

This position involves teaching middle school mathematics courses within a French immersion environment. The teacher will employ a variety of teaching methods to engage diverse learning styles and ability levels, preparing motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect curriculum knowledge, child development, and students' varying abilities. The role encourages an inclusive classroom that accepts different perspectives and backgrounds, nurturing globally minded students. Effective communication with parents, colleagues, and administrators is essential, as is the utilization of assessments and student data to inform instruction. The teacher will create a positive and engaging learning environment with clear expectations for classwork, homework, and assessments, fostering a culture of literacy and inquiry through current literature and resources that support critical thinking. Responsibilities include meeting grade reporting deadlines, maintaining substitute plans, engaging in professional development (including IB training), participating in professional goal setting, and attending faculty meetings. The role requires effective communication in a multicultural environment, efficient task management, and the integration of technology to enhance learning tasks. Successful candidates must pass a federal fingerprint background check and register with the Family Care Safety Registry.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Education, English, French, Foreign Language Education related field; or a field related to the assigned subject area (i.e. Mathematics).
Hold or be eligible for a Missouri Teaching Certificate, or, for non-US degreed candidates (Licence/diploma), have valid credentials to teach in home country in accordance with MO Revised Statutes 160.420.
Demonstrated ability to teach assigned content in French (native or near-native proficiency in French).
Demonstrated effective classroom management skills.
