VANCE CHARTER SCHOOL JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Teacher Salary Per Salary Scale FLSA Status Exempt Work Week Schedule Monday-Friday Work Hours 40 Number of Months Per Year 10 SPECIFIC DUTIES, QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The teacher must develop instructional plans to meet the academic needs of all their students Clearly establish learning goals and objectives each day Teachers must follow and implement all school policies and procedures Complete student records in compliance with school procedures, NCDPI policy and OCS regulations Attend monthly school staff meetings Administer testing in compliance with NCDPI/or national standards This position is essential for daily school operations and requires in person attendance.

Requirements

  • Develop instructional plans to meet the academic needs of all students.
  • Clearly establish learning goals and objectives each day.
  • Follow and implement all school policies and procedures.
  • Complete student records in compliance with school procedures, NCDPI policy and OCS regulations.
  • Attend monthly school staff meetings.
  • Administer testing in compliance with NCDPI/or national standards.
  • Requires in person attendance.
  • Maintain good order and discipline in respective schools.
  • Report acts of violence in school and students suspended or expelled from school.
  • Encourage temperance, morality, industry, and neatness.
  • Promote the health of all pupils, especially of children in the first three grades, by providing frequent periods of recreation, to supervise the play activities during recess, and to encourage wholesome exercises for all children.
  • Provide medical care to students as provided in G.S. 115C-375.1.
  • Teach as thoroughly as they are able all branches which they are required to teach.
  • Provide for singing in the school, and so far as possible to give instruction in the public school music.
  • Enter actively into the plans of the superintendent for the professional growth of the teachers.
  • Cooperate with the principal in ascertaining the cause of nonattendance of pupils that he may report all violators of the compulsory attendance law to the school social worker.
  • Make all reports required by the local board of education.
  • Instruct children in proper care of property and to exercise due care in the protection of school property, in accordance with the provisions of G.S. 115C-523.
