About The Position

Currey Ingram Academy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Middle School English-Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our dedicated faculty for an interim position (end of August-end of November) during the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate is a passionate educator with a strong background in all components of structured literacy and/or Special Education and a commitment to helping students grow as confident and capable learners. This interim position includes teaching ELA for grades 5–8, which includes explicit instruction in active reading strategies, vocabulary, word recognition, written expression, grammar, and spelling / morphology. The successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for differentiating instruction and fostering a collaborative, student-centered classroom environment. In addition, candidates should be eager to work with colleagues to design and implement evidence-based instructional practices, provide individualized academic support, and contribute to the broader school community. Currey Ingram Academy is a co-ed, college-preparatory day and boarding school (JK–12 for day; 9–12 for boarding) located in beautiful Brentwood, TN. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Reading, English and/or Special Education
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with classroom technology
  • A commitment to continuous professional growth
