About The Position

American Heritage School is seeking a Middle School Aide to assist teachers with classroom management, grading, teaching, and mentoring students in language arts, literature, writing, history, and geography. The role also involves general teacher and student support and may require substituting for the teacher. This is a faith-forming position where aides are expected to actively support, model, and teach principles consistent with the Mission and values of AHS and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Bachelor's degree
Experience teaching in school settings
Experience working with students with specific learning disabilities
Interest or experience in supporting AHS extracurricular athletics programs

Responsibilities

Assist teachers with classroom management
Assist teachers with grading
Assist teachers with teaching
Mentor students in language arts, literature, writing, history, and geography
Provide general teacher and student support
Substitute for the teacher when needed
Integrate faith-based principles and moral reasoning into classroom instruction
Serve as an example of Christian character and discipleship to students
Support and uphold the spiritual mission of the school through daily interactions
Participate in school-wide devotionals, prayer, and other faith-centered activities
Respond thoughtfully to student questions related to faith, values, and moral decision-making
Create and post assignments with clear instructions, models, and rubrics
Maintain purposeful and effective classroom routines
Communicate with parents and colleagues in a timely, collaborative, precise, and positive manner
Monitor and report student progress clearly and consistently
Support AHS extracurricular athletics programs
