About The Position

American Heritage School is seeking a qualified and dedicated Middle School Math Aide. This position is a faith-forming role within the school, requiring the aide to actively support, model, and teach principles consistent with the Mission and values of AHS and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The aide will assist teachers with classroom management, grading, teaching, lesson preparation, and general teacher and student support. In addition to academic responsibilities, aides are expected to integrate faith-based principles, serve as an example of Christian character, support the spiritual mission of the school, participate in faith-centered activities, and respond thoughtfully to student questions related to faith and values. Candidates must be professional in appearance and demeanor and willing to serve as ambassadors for the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement, ensuring their conduct reflects the school's religious mission.

Requirements

Comfortable teaching middle school math through Algebra One
Enduring love of youth
Genuine passion for teaching and learning
Commitment to actively participate in and contribute to a faith-based educational environment aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Strong communication and classroom management skills
High energy and a warm, consistent presence in the classroom
Experience preparing and delivering daily lesson plans
Experience establishing and communicating clear learning objectives
Ability to use a variety of pedagogical methods
Willingness to continue learning and growing professionally
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional in appearance and demeanor
Willing and able to serve as ambassadors for the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement
Personal conduct, public statements, and online presence, both on and off campus, are expected to reflect and support the school's religious mission and educational purpose

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Experience working with students with specific learning disabilities
Interest or experience in supporting AHS extracurricular athletics programs

Responsibilities

Assist teachers with classroom management
Grading
Teaching
Lesson preparation
General teacher and student support
Carpool and lunchroom supervision duties
Other duties as assigned by the science teachers or administration
Integrate faith-based principles and moral reasoning into classroom instruction where appropriate
Serve as an example of Christian character and discipleship to students
Support and uphold the spiritual mission of the school through daily interactions with students and colleagues
Participate in school-wide devotionals, prayer, and other faith-centered activities
Respond thoughtfully to student questions related to faith, values, and moral decision-making
Create and post assignments with clear instructions, models, and rubrics
Maintain purposeful and effective classroom routines
Communicate with parents and colleagues in ways that are timely, collaborative, precise, and positive
Monitor and report student progress clearly and consistently
