About The Position

Villa Bella Expeditionary (VBE) is a K-8th District 70 charter school utilizing Expeditionary Learning for its language arts curriculum and Illustrative Math. As a newer school, VBE offers teachers the chance to be part of a growing organization that requires significant work, entrepreneurship, and creativity. The school follows the District 70 academic calendar with minor adjustments and mandates professional development one Friday per month. VBE is seeking energetic, compassionate, and hardworking individuals whose educational philosophies align with EL Education.

Requirements

  • Colorado Educator License
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and dispositions to meet all Colorado State Teacher Standards.
  • Support the planning and implementation of the VBE's strategic plan.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in applying instructional technology standards for personal productivity and supporting instruction (productivity and presentation tools and software, multimedia equipment, online learning environments).
  • Possess basic organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including problem-solving and investigative skills.
  • Effective and efficient time/task management skills.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
  • Practical communication skills, including the ability to run effective meetings and facilitate collaboration and communication among groups.
  • Reliable and resourceful with a solid work ethic.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity and acceptance of all students.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a learning facilitator, instructor, coach, mentor, and tutor in the classroom.
  • Provide a personalized learning environment that fosters collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, technology integration, and communication to meet meaningful learning targets aligned with Colorado State Standards.
  • Ensure each student in the classroom achieves and grows.
  • Design, implement, and assess learning experiences using research-based, culturally relevant instructional practices, technology, and digital resources to fully implement the VBE curriculum.
  • Respond to student needs based on achievement data evaluation.
  • Collect and maintain student achievement data as requested by the supervisor.
  • Integrate effective instructional technology, including Apple TV, mobile devices, online collaborative communities, personalized learning software, web-based assessments, computer applications, and digital resources.
  • Apply knowledge to facilitate and communicate effective differentiated classroom practices and educational pedagogy for general education, English as a Second Language, and special education students.
  • Promote, support, and model the exploration of real-world issues and the solving of authentic problems.
  • Customize and personalize learning activities to address diverse student learning styles, working strategies, and abilities.
  • Regularly evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice to effectively use existing and emerging instructional practices and resources to support student learning.
  • Collaboratively reflect with teachers on research-based differentiated instructional practices, information technology integration, and student achievement.
  • Advocate, model, and teach safe, legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology, including respect for copyright, intellectual property, and appropriate source documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with parents through various methods, including conferences, phone calls, emails, and meetings.
  • Participate actively in building and district professional learning communities.
  • Maintain competency in information, technology, and media literacies through online collaborative learning and professional development activities.
  • Reflect on current competencies in the Expeditionary Learning curriculum, research-based instructional practices, and instructional technology to identify growth areas.
  • Maintain competency in research-based instructional practices, instructional technology, and information literacy standards by participating in professional learning activities.
  • Complete other assigned duties, including mandatory Friday professional development, after-school meetings, and activities.
