Middle & High School Math Tutor – Camp Glenn Rockey
About The Position
Tutor Partners is seeking experienced, qualified middle and high school math tutors to provide in-person tutoring services in partnership with the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) at its Juvenile Court Schools. The role offers an opportunity to support students’ academic and social-emotional needs in a specialized educational setting. Tutors will work at an assigned LACOE Juvenile Court Schools site, including Camp Glenn Rockey and other listed locations. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., from now through the end of the 2026–27 school year. The pay rate is $20–$30 per hour.
Requirements
- An associate’s degree or a minimum of 24 college credits.
- Experience working with students in grades 6–12.
- Strong content knowledge in middle and high school math.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to pass required background clearances, such as LiveScan/fingerprinting, as required by LACOE.
- Reliable transportation to the assigned site.
Nice To Haves
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience in juvenile justice or alternative education settings.
- Experience tutoring ELA.
Responsibilities
- Provide small-group and push-in math support aligned to student needs during the school day.
- Track and report student progress.
- Participate in instructional planning with teachers and school leaders, administration of assessments, and coordination meetings.
- Collaborate with Tutor Partners staff and site personnel to coordinate scheduling and materials.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and professional learning environment.
