About the position
Verisign is seeking a Middle or Senior level software engineer to join their team as a Productivity and Efficiency Engineer. The ideal candidate should have a strong focus on productivity and automation, proficiency in programming languages, and a willingness to learn. They should possess a solid understanding of core Computer Science concepts and have hands-on experience with automation, continuous delivery, and building task-specific tools. The candidate will be responsible for improving engineers' productivity through the development and implementation of productivity-enhancing solutions, collaborating with various teams within the organization. This role requires a bachelor's degree and 5-6 years of practical work experience, although other career paths will also be considered.

- Hands-on problem-solving experience involving automation, continuous delivery, and building task-specific tools
- Keeps ease of use, maintainability, and security in mind
- Equivalent of a bachelor's degree and 5-6 years of practical work experience (open to other career paths)
- Involvement in all aspects of engineers' productivity improvements
- Regular cross-team collaboration with Engineering, Security, and Operations
- Full ownership of improvements
- Proactively identifies, prioritizes, and solves common productivity issues
- Experience with shared and reusable Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with shared productivity tools and libraries, primarily in Python and Java
- Experience with secure-by-design AWS cloud platform
- Experience with common modules for Ansible and Terraform
- Experience with common Docker images
- Experience with static code analyzers and their rule configurations
- Experience with automated or by-design system compliance
- Experience with tools for monitoring, preventing, and resolving production issues
- Familiarity with feature and performance code testing approaches
