Microelectronics Business Development Manager (remote)
About The Position
The Microelectronics Business Development Manager will help grow the company’s custom and standard product business. This customer-focused role bridges engineering expertise with business development, supporting semiconductor solutions for customers in the Mil-Aero, Industrial, and Medical markets. The position involves understanding customer technical challenges and developing solutions that draw on Design Automation, FPGA, ASIC Design, and advanced Packaging expertise. The manager works with customers and internal engineering, product development, and leadership teams to assess requirements, define technical approaches, and estimate the resources, effort, and costs associated with potential business opportunities. The role also supports ASIC architecture development, technical sales and presales engagements, proposal development, and business case development. The position may influence internal processes by identifying challenges and recommending improvements to design methodologies, tools, and workflows. Travel of up to 30% is anticipated.
Requirements
- BSEE, MSEE, or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience in Design Automation, FPGA, or ASIC Design.
- At least 5 years of experience in the Semiconductor industry; advanced degrees may be considered with fewer years of experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong English oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with systems that include some of the following: linear and switching voltage regulators, high/low side power switches, digital drivers, amplifiers, ADCs, SPI, CAN, microprocessors, thermal considerations, and EMC considerations.
- Leadership qualities including integrity, attention to detail, goal orientation, and motivation to improve.
- Self-motivated team player able to work in a customer-oriented, fast-paced, demanding environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong technical documentation and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to document technical requirements.
- Proficiency with common computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of analog, digital, and mixed-signal design fundamentals.

Responsibilities
- Close business by providing technical sales support during various stages of the sales cycle.
- Contribute to the development of the overall ASIC architecture.
- Develop long-term client relationships by managing and interpreting client requirements.
- Develop technical and cost proposals.
- Make technical presentations and demonstrate how products meet client needs.
- Meet regular sales targets and coordinate sales projects.
- Provide presales technical assistance and product education.
- Lead presales technical engagements.
- Understand technical requirements and forecast realistic customer requirements.
- Identify prospective clients who may benefit from company products or services and grow business with existing customers.
- Support business case development.
- Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.
- Support IC Design, Test, and Product teams during development.
- Work with customers to understand high-level requirements and design solutions.
- Collaborate with sales team members and other technical experts.
- Identify challenges and recommend improvements to design methodologies, tools, and workflows.
