About The Position

Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking an experienced Microbiology Technical Consultant to provide specialized consulting services for clinical laboratory projects. The current need includes supporting microbiology validation projects. Additional services may include on-site technical support and training, remote data analysis and review, validation documentation, and consulting related to laboratory preparation, instrumentation, equipment, and supplies. This is an independent contractor (1099) consulting opportunity, not an employee position. Work is offered based on client needs and project requirements. There is no guarantee of hours, assignments, minimum workload, or future projects. Work may be remote or on-site at client locations; the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area is preferred. Compensation is project-based or hourly, depending on the engagement.

Requirements

Master's degree required.
At least five years of laboratory experience specific to microbiology validations.
Demonstrated technical knowledge of clinical microbiology laboratory processes and validation requirements.
Ability to analyze and review validation data and prepare clear, accurate technical documentation.
Ability to provide specialized technical consulting services independently.
Availability to provide remote and/or on-site support, depending on project requirements.
Hands-on experience with microbiology instrumentation such as VITEK, BD Phoenix, or MALDI-TOF.
Experience supporting laboratory implementation, validation, or readiness projects.
Knowledge of CAP requirements applicable to microbiology validations.
Experience providing technical training or consulting to clinical laboratories.
