About The Position
The Manager Engineering 3 role is with Newport News Shipbuilding’s Test Engineering team. The position calls for preferred leadership or conduct experience across all phases of CVN and/or SSN Combat, Large Networks, and Non-Propulsion Electronics Industrial Test Program management, including planning, scheduling, progressing, security, and testing at land-based and shipboard sites, as well as certification and sea trials. Experience controlling radio frequency and/or acoustic energy for personnel safety is a plus. Strong written and oral communication skills across stakeholders such as the shipbuilder, Government, NAVSEA, and Ship’s Force test teams are required. A SECRET DoD security clearance is required before starting, and U.S. citizenship is required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering, and design; or a master’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience; or a Ph.D. and 4 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- SECRET DoD security clearance required before starting.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills across multiple organizational stakeholders.

- Communicate with stakeholders across the shipbuilder, Government, NAVSEA, and Ship’s Force test teams.
