About The Position

The Meter Specialist serves as a technical expert for the sales team and advises customers on troubleshooting, training, and solution-oriented sales guidance. The role specializes in utility commodities—including water, wastewater, stormwater, gas, and electric—and their measurement and data automation technologies and software. The position involves servicing technology in both office and field settings.

The specialist supports sales and customer relationships by developing accounts, delivering technical products and services, influencing customer specifications, and guiding consultative sales. The role also serves as a technical liaison between customers and company engineering, manufacturing, and program management representatives, leads presentations to senior leadership, and acts as the primary local customer contact for contract negotiations and maintenance.

Requirements

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of experience in a related field.

Nice To Haves

• Utility maintenance or utility construction experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prospect new accounts, retain existing accounts, and increase opportunities with existing customers.
• Deliver solution-oriented sales of technical products and provide related services, installations, and configurations for customer-specific products or applications.
• Influence customer specifications for the benefit of the customer and the company.
• Provide strategic direction to the local sales team and drive a consultative sales process with customers.
• Advise customers and the sales team on technical troubleshooting, training, and solution-oriented sales guidance.
• Serve as the technical interface between customers and company engineering, manufacturing, and program management representatives.
• Service technology in both office and field settings.
• Lead presentations to high-level leadership.
• Act as the primary local customer liaison for contract negotiations and contract maintenance.
