About The Position

Lawrence Equipment is seeking an experienced Metal Finishing Supervisor to lead the polishers and grinders in its finishing department. This hands-on role involves supervising staff and performing metal finishing operations, including polishing, grinding, and cleaning stainless steel and other metal components used in food production machinery. The position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and experience maintaining high-quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

At least 7 years of experience in metal finishing, polishing, or grinding.
At least 3 years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of metal finishing tools, materials, and techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Commitment to safety and product quality.

Nice To Haves

Experience with stainless steel metal finishing.
Bilingual English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Supervise, train, and coordinate the daily activities of metal finishers and grinders.
Polish, grind, and clean fabricated metal parts to achieve required finishes.
Inspect parts to ensure they meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
Allocate work, monitor productivity, and ensure deadlines are met.
Maintain safe work practices and enforce safety regulations.
Collaborate with production, welding, and assembly departments to ensure a smooth workflow.
Manage inventory of polishing materials, tools, and equipment.
Support continuous improvement initiatives for quality, safety, and efficiency.
