Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of experience in shipping and receiving or a related area.
Working knowledge of standard DOT concepts, regulations, practices, and procedures.
Working knowledge of proper loading techniques, weight limitations, and company procedures.
Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Basic knowledge of lumber math, lumber grades, and species.
Successful completion of the forklift driver licensing process.
At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule outbound loads with sales and production.
Determine the proper loading order and placement of products.
Verify shipping documents and record discrepancies.
Arrange common-carrier shipments through outside freight companies.
Coordinate order routing and dispatch carriers with orders and delivery instructions that meet customer receiving times.
Ensure internal and external paperwork complies with Universal and DOT regulations and procedures.
Document order shortages, investigate their causes, and inform sales and administration.
Respond to calls to trace or expedite orders.
Maintain documentation and records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
May assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks or carts.
Prepare reports and correspondence as required.
Perform other duties as required.
