Requirements

  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings, or willing to learn
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
  • Deftness and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Welding certification is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist with fabrication according to blueprints and shop drawing requirements
  • Determine the appropriate equipment, tools and/or methods needed to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Operate carpentry, fabrication and/or hand and power tool equipment
  • Cutting and assembling materials to specifications
  • Using power tools and hand tools to cut and prepare materials for assembly
  • Keeping shop and work area clean and organized
  • Works with a sense of urgency to meet short deadlines without compromising quality
  • Comply with all safety precautions and procedures
  • Align components using calipers, rulers, etc. and clamp pieces
  • Use hand tools, gauges, dials and/or other indicators to make sure machines are working properly
  • Use precise measurement tools during the fabrication process
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
