About The Position

The Global Commodity Manager leads the strategic direction, performance, and continuous improvement of assigned commodities across the global supply base. This role partners closely with cross‑functional teams to drive supplier excellence, optimize total cost of ownership, strengthen supply continuity, and support revenue and margin growth. The position owns the supplier lifecycle—from selection and onboarding to performance management and long‑term development—ensuring a resilient, high‑quality, and cost‑effective supply chain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Supplier Management, or Strategic Sourcing
  • Demonstrated expertise in cost‑reduction strategies, competitive bidding, and value‑maximizing sourcing techniques.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favorable commercial outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of strategic sourcing principles and supplier relationship management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Knowledge of supplier contracts, product conformity requirements, quality tools, and structured problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems.

  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, including Six Sigma
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems

Responsibilities

  • Deliver measurable material cost productivity using data‑driven continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Develop, communicate, and execute global commodity and supplier strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage supplier performance through scorecards, KPIs, and corrective action processes; drive improvements using analytics and structured problem‑solving.
  • Lead the negotiation, development, and execution of supplier agreements that maximize value, mitigate risk, and support high inventory turns.
  • Champion supplier development initiatives and lead quarterly business reviews to strengthen capability, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Evaluate existing and potential suppliers to enhance service levels, reduce total cost, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Optimize end‑to‑end supply chain performance with a focus on lead‑time reduction and supply continuity.
  • Participate in or lead cross‑functional teams addressing quality, cost, inventory, and material availability challenges.
  • Monitor commodity markets and provide insights on trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support supplier quality audits and ensure conformance to corporate standards.
  • Maintain and continuously improve supplier scorecards.
  • Serve as an SAP Super User for the functional area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
