About The Position

Great Lakes Wine & Spirits is seeking a Merchandising Swing Representative for its Retail Chain Sales Division. This role will service multiple accounts in and surrounding the Lansing area. The Merchandising Swing Rep is responsible for the timely stocking and product handling of all GLWAS merchandise shipped to assigned retail accounts. This includes packing out orders, pricing individual bottles, building displays, resetting shelf and cold box schematics, implementing correct shelf and display signage, product rotation, fronting, dusting, and maintaining shelf and housekeeping standards. The position also involves generating positive business relationships with account personnel, maintaining product knowledge, understanding and executing merchandising standards, ensuring correct pricing and signage, and utilizing reports and pre-plans.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Basic competency with basic iOS devices
  • A valid driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the employee policy manual and any applicable contracts, signed agreements, and work rules.
  • Cooperate with all management and staff of GLWAS.
  • Follow all MLCC rules and regulations, as they apply to the position.
  • Use alcohol in a responsible manner when related to business activities.

Responsibilities

  • Timely stocking and product handling of all GLWAS merchandise shipped to assigned retail accounts.
  • Packing out all orders.
  • Pricing individual bottles.

  • Implementation of correct shelf and display signage.
  • Product rotation, fronting, and dusting.
  • Adherence to all shelf and other housekeeping standards.
  • Generate positive business building relationship with Management, Buyer, Owner, or person in charge of making wine/beverage buying decisions at assigned accounts.
  • Maintain good product knowledge on all GLWAS brands and take initiative to improve overall wine/beverage/category knowledge.
  • Constantly improve appearance of GLWAS items when in an account.
  • Understanding and execution of shelf, display, cold box standards of GLWAS and its Suppliers as well as the standards set forth by the account, including stocking/"pack out" policies.
  • Ensure all shelf price tags are correct and in place at the beginning of every month.
  • Ensure all display prices are correct and placed with current pricing.
  • Maintain and place all current POS for all products.
  • Maintain and use reports, forms, and pre-plans.
