About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree works with the Store Manager to lead store associates and create positive experiences for the community, with a focus on merchandising and freight processing. The role supports store operations and helps maintain a safe, clean, organized, and sales-effective store. The position may also assist the Store Manager with merchandise receipt and returns, freight flow, ordering and stocking merchandise, and planning and maintaining sales displays and monthly Sales Planners. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to meet the physical demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Prior retail experience is preferred.
Prior management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information requests.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Help provide a positive, safe, and respectful environment and maintain professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned by the Store Manager.
Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, in accordance with productivity standards.
Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
Perform other duties as assigned.
