Merchandising Assistant Manager
About The Position
As a Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, you join the Store Manager in leading a team of associates and creating positive experiences for the community. The role focuses on merchandising and freight processing, supporting store operations, and helping maintain a positive, safe, respectful, and sales-effective store environment. You assist with store functions and daily activities, opening and closing procedures, asset protection, policy compliance, store cleanliness and upkeep, and processing corporate directives. As assigned, you also assist the Store Manager with direct-store-delivery merchandise, freight flow, ordering and stocking merchandise—including frozen and refrigerated products—and sales-floor merchandising and planning.
Requirements
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
- Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height, and to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities
- Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
- Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
- Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store-related communications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
- Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
- Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned.
- Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
- Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen and refrigerated products, in accordance with productivity standards.
- Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
- Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
- Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
