About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager joins the Store Manager in leading store associates and creating positive experiences for the community. The role focuses on merchandising and freight processing, while assisting with store operations and supporting the Store Manager with assigned responsibilities. Duties may include additional tasks as assigned and are not limited to those listed in the posting.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior retail experience is preferred.
• Prior management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
• Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned by the Store Manager.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated products, according to productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
