About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree supports the Store Manager in leading store associates and creating positive experiences for the community. The role focuses on merchandising and freight processing, while also assisting with day-to-day store operations, maintaining company standards, and helping ensure a safe and respectful environment for customers and associates. The position includes additional merchandising and freight responsibilities assigned by the Store Manager.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment is required.
• Ability to lift 30–50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height, and to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information requests.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
• Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Assist the Store Manager with processing the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
