About The Position

As a Merchandise Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, you’ll join the Store Manager in leading a team of associates and creating positive experiences for the communities the store serves. The role focuses on merchandising and processing freight while supporting store functions and day-to-day activities. The assistant manager also helps the Store Manager with merchandise receiving and returns, freight flow, ordering and stocking, and maintaining an effective sales floor. The position includes opening and closing procedures as needed, protecting company assets, following policies and safety guidelines, maintaining the stockroom and sales floor, processing corporate directives, and keeping the store clean and presentable. The role requires professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders, and may include other duties as assigned. This is a full-time position at Dollar Tree in Shorewood, Minnesota. The listed pay range is $19.50 to $20.25.

Requirements

Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height, and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
Maintain the stockroom, sales floor, and other store areas to company standards.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store communications.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment and interact professionally and courteously with customers, associates, and leaders.
Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned by the Store Manager.
Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated products, in accordance with productivity standards.
Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
Perform other duties as assigned.
