Merchandising Assistant Manager
About The Position
As a Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, you will join the Store Manager in leading a team of associates and creating positive experiences for the communities the store serves. The role focuses on merchandising and freight processing, while also assisting with store functions and day-to-day activities. You will help maintain company standards across the stockroom and sales floor, support store operations and merchandising plans, and promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and employees. The position also includes physical tasks such as lifting and frequent movement throughout the store.
Requirements
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
- Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height.
- Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities
- Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
- Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
- Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
- Maintain positive, safe, and respectful interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
- Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
- Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
- Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, in accordance with productivity standards.
- Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
- Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
- Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
