About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager joins the Store Manager in leading store associates and creating positive customer experiences. The role focuses on merchandising and processing freight, while assisting with store functions, day-to-day activities, and management duties as assigned. Responsibilities include maintaining store standards, supporting sales-effective merchandising, and helping ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and associates.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• Prior retail experience is preferred.
• Prior management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives and communications, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information requests.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
• Maintain positive, safe, and respectful interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned by the Store Manager.
• Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated products, in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
