About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree assists the Store Manager in leading store associates and creating positive experiences for the communities the store serves. The role focuses on merchandising and freight processing while supporting store functions, daily activities, and store standards. The position also assists the Store Manager with merchandise receipt and returns, freight flow, ordering and stocking merchandise, and sales-floor merchandising. The job description notes that responsibilities may be amended and that other related duties may be assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height.
• Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
• Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated products, according to productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
