About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager joins the Store Manager in leading store associates and creating positive experiences for the communities Dollar Tree serves. The role focuses on merchandising and processing freight, while assisting with store functions and daily activities. The position also supports the Store Manager with merchandise receipt and returns, freight flow, ordering and stocking, and sales-floor merchandising.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• Prior retail experience is preferred.
• Prior management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment and interact professionally and cordially with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned by the Store Manager.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, according to productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
