About The Position

At Dollar Tree, the Merchandising Assistant Manager joins the Store Manager in leading store associates and creating positive experiences for the communities the store serves. The role focuses on merchandising and freight processing, assists with store functions and daily activities, and supports the Store Manager with merchandise flow and sales-floor execution. The position also helps maintain a clean, safe, and presentable store and provides professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
• Help maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment and interact professionally and cordially with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process the receipt and return of direct-store-delivery (DSD) merchandise as assigned by the Store Manager.
• Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated products, in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
