About The Position

The Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree works with the Store Manager to lead store associates and create positive experiences for the community. The position focuses on merchandising and freight processing, while assisting with store operations and manager-assigned responsibilities. The role also involves maintaining a safe, clean, and sales-effective store and providing professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Ability to lift between 30 and 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store-related communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
• Help ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned by the Store Manager.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated items, according to productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
