About The Position

As a Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, you will join the Store Manager in leading a team of associates and creating positive experiences for the communities the store serves. The role focuses on merchandising and processing freight, while assisting with store functions and day-to-day activities. You will help maintain store standards, support safe and professional customer and associate interactions, and assist the Store Manager with freight flow, ordering and stocking merchandise, and sales-floor merchandising. The position is full-time and located at 7650 State Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas 66112-2818.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height and meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Prior retail experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment and interact professionally and cordially with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise as assigned by the Store Manager.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated products, according to productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
