About The Position

As a Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, you will join the Store Manager in leading a team of associates and creating positive experiences for the communities served. The role focuses on merchandising and processing freight, while assisting with store functions and day-to-day activities. You will also support the Store Manager with freight flow, merchandise ordering and stocking, sales-floor effectiveness, and merchandising initiatives. The role includes maintaining store standards, protecting company assets, following policies and safety guidelines, and helping ensure a clean, safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for customers and associates. Duties may be amended as business needs evolve, and other related duties may be assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
Ability to lift between 30 and 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Prior retail experience is preferred.
Prior management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
Help maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, as assigned by the Store Manager.
Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen and refrigerated merchandise, in accordance with productivity standards.
Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
Perform other duties as assigned.
