About The Position

As a Merchandising Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, you’ll join the Store Manager in leading a team of associates and creating positive experiences for the communities the store serves. The role focuses on merchandising and processing freight, while supporting store functions and daily operations. The assistant manager also helps the Store Manager with merchandise processing, freight flow, ordering and stocking, and sales-floor merchandising. The position requires physical activity, including lifting and frequent movement, and offers a range of health, financial, and well-being benefits.

Requirements

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height, and to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
• Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment and interact professionally and in a friendly manner with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, as assigned by the Store Manager.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen and refrigerated goods, according to productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
