About The Position

Merchandisers promote the sale of live plants by creating and maintaining displays based on plant characteristics and each Garden Center’s layout. They unload plant carts onto fixtures and maintain the appearance of displays by culling and condensing plants. The role is performed primarily outdoors, with travel between locations within the assigned District and occasional indoor work. Some administrative tasks, such as submitting photographs and completing surveys, may be required. The position does not directly manage employees or supervise a team.

Requirements

Experience with plants and retail merchandising, or a desire to learn about them.
Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely and complete tasks as required.
Demonstrated reliability in following through on assignments.
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
Flexible availability, including weekends and key holidays during peak seasons, based on business needs.
Willingness to embrace company culture.
Ability to pass a criminal background check and use a smartphone.
Fluency in English and the ability to see, speak, hear, read, and write.
Ability to lift and push up to 35 pounds unassisted, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and perform buddy lifts for 51–100 pounds.
Ability to walk, squat, twist, bend, reach, and occasionally climb stairs or step stools under 5 feet.
Ability to work outdoors in all elements, including dust and allergens, and travel between locations within the assigned District.

Responsibilities

Execute live nursery programs and maintain merchandising standards.
Keep live goods displays fresh, neat, clean, and organized according to the layout.
Communicate regularly with the District Manager, Team Lead, and appropriate store staff.
Inform a supervisor about issues involving displays, product quality, safety, or store partners.
Maintain a professional, customer-friendly attitude and provide customer service and assistance with live goods.
Follow company safety protocols to maintain a safe working and shopping environment.
Follow customer and vendor policies and procedures in daily work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Unload plant carts onto fixtures and maintain displays by culling and condensing plants.
Submit photographs and complete surveys when required.
