About The Position

The Merchandiser presents products to attract consumers at customer retail locations and services and maintains multiple bulk accounts. The role involves merchandising approved products and packages using safe handling techniques and following quality guidelines. The Merchandiser follows plan sets and planograms and communicates with store management and cross-functional personnel. This route serves customers in Irmo, Cayce, Gaston, and surrounding areas. Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel between stores. The schedule starts between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. and continues until the route is complete. Weekend work is required, with two varying days off during the week. The work environment varies and may include exposure to weather, coolers, and customer storage areas that are not temperature controlled.

Requirements

Valid in-state driver's license.
Excellent driving history.
Proof of current insurance coverage for liability and property damage of at least $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident, and $50,000 property damage, with a deductible of $500 or less, effective from the first day of employment.
Effective listening, speaking, and writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to satisfy the needs of customers with varying demands and expectations.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, including repetitive lifting of 50 pounds.
Ability to work reliably and independently with little daily supervision.
Critical thinking skills.
Ability to work weekends.

Responsibilities

Fill, merchandise, and rotate products on displays and shelves according to procedures and special programs.
Move product from the backroom and place it on display.
Create and distribute point-of-sale materials on displays and shelves where permitted.
Fill and merchandise Fastlane merchandisers and vendors, and check vendors for proper operation.
Organize and maintain the backroom by stacking and arranging products by package and flavor.
Arrange the return of empty pallets and shells, damaged products, and out-of-date products to the branch.
Build business relationships with store personnel through routine follow-up on requests and discussions about pricing, special programs, new opportunities, and upcoming activities.
