About The Position

The Merchandiser presents products to attract consumers at customer retail locations and services and maintains multiple bulk accounts. The role involves merchandising approved products and packages using safe handling techniques and following quality guidelines. The Merchandiser follows plan sets and planograms and communicates with store management and cross-functional personnel. This route serves customers in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and surrounding areas; mileage reimbursement is provided for travel between stores. The schedule begins between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. and continues until the route is complete. Weekend work is required, with two days off during the week that vary according to the store route. The work environment may include exposure to weather, coolers, and customer storage areas that may not be temperature-controlled.

Requirements

Valid in-state driver's license.
Excellent driving history.
Proof of current insurance coverage for liability and property damage of at least $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident, and $50,000 property damage, with a deductible of $500 or less, effective from the first day of employment.
Effective listening, speaking, and writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with customers who have varying needs and expectations.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, including repetitive lifting of 50 pounds.
Ability to work reliably and independently with little daily supervision.
Critical-thinking skills.

Prior customer service experience, preferably in a retail setting.

Responsibilities

Fill, merchandise, and rotate products on displays and shelves according to procedures and special programs.
Physically move products from the backroom and place them on display.
Create and distribute point-of-sale materials on displays and shelves where permitted.
Fill and merchandise Fastlane merchandisers and vendors, and check vendors for proper operation.
Organize and maintain the backroom by stacking and arranging products by package and flavor.
Arrange the return of empty pallets and shells, damaged products, and out-of-date products to the branch.
Build business relationships with store personnel through routine follow-up on requests and discussions about proactive pricing, special programs, new opportunities, and upcoming activities.
