About The Position

Alliance Beverage is hiring a full-time Merchandiser for the Jenison area. Merchandisers travel in their own vehicles to assigned accounts to stock, rotate, and face products, organize backstock, and work with Sales Representatives to build displays. The role involves coordinating with the sales team to maintain appropriate product levels and prevent stockouts. Merchandisers work independently while communicating with customers and coworkers, and repeatedly bend and lift products, including cases weighing up to 50 pounds. The position starts at $17.00 per hour. The company provides mileage reimbursement for use of a personal vehicle and describes opportunities for advancement and employee product discounts. Alliance Beverage is a Michigan-based distributor formed in 2013 through the merger of Kent Beverage and B&B Beer. It has more than 550 employees, serves over 6,000 customers across Western Michigan, and operates three distribution centers and six sales offices.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Adequate auto insurance; the required coverage level will be provided during the interview process.
Reliable personal transportation, as merchandisers drive their own vehicles between stores.
Stable work history and a proven track record of reliability; training takes about two weeks.
Ability to work independently while being part of a larger team.
Customer service and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Travel to assigned accounts to stock, rotate, and face merchandise.
Consolidate and organize products in backstock areas.
Work with Sales Representatives to build displays.
Communicate necessary information within the sales team to maintain proper product levels and prevent stockouts.
Repeatedly bend and lift product, including cases weighing up to 50 pounds.
Communicate with customers and other employees.
