About The Position

We are hiring a full-time Merchandiser to provide rack services and merchandising support to retailers in the Baton Rouge area. The role involves ordering, stocking, and merchandising HBC/GM departments in member and retailer stores; managing new product introductions; and promoting and selling displays for contracted Merchandising Services clients. The position requires approximately 32–40 hours per week. The Merchandiser orders and checks in merchandise, verifies product expiration dates, stocks and rotates products, removes discontinued items, and dusts department areas during each store visit. The employee reports shipping errors and outdated products, completes credit return forms accurately, positions private-label products to the right of comparable national brands, builds working relationships with retailers, and introduces new items while replacing slow- and non-selling products.

Requirements

High school education, up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Maintain a valid driver’s license.
Maintain an appropriate motor vehicle driving record.
Knowledge of HBC/GM.
Ability to work with little supervision.
Dependability.
Ability to use a two-step stool to reach and handle products.

Responsibilities

Order HBC/GM merchandise for member and retailer stores and verify expiration dates on received and shelf products.
Check in the entire order, including cases and totes.
Stock and rotate products, pull discontinued items, and dust HBC/GM departments during each store visit.
Notify a supervisor of shipping errors or outdated products.
Complete accurate credit return forms.
Merchandise private-label products to the right of comparable national brands.
Develop good working relationships with member and retailer contacts.
Work in new items and replace slow- and non-selling items.
Manage new product introductions.
Promote and sell displays for contracted Merchandising Services clients.
