About The Position

A Merchandise Handler supports retail and distribution operations by safely handling and processing goods, maintaining accurate inventory, and helping ensure smooth supply-chain operations. The role involves moving, tracking, inspecting, storing, and preparing merchandise for shipment in a warehouse, distribution center, or retail store environment. The position requires physical fitness, attention to detail, organization, and effective communication. Hours are variable and may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with alternating shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical fitness for lifting and moving items.
• Ability to lift objects weighing 50–100 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good organizational skills.
• Teamwork and communication abilities.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of safety protocols.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Previous experience is preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

• Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently load, unload, sort, and move merchandise, packages, or products.
• Track, count, and record inventory using manual or electronic systems.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through proper handling and documentation.
• Pick, pack, and prepare merchandise for shipping, ensuring orders are accurate and adequately packaged to prevent damage.
• Inspect merchandise for defects, damage, or inconsistencies; report issues to supervisors and follow quality-control procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including shelving, storage bins, and loading docks.
• Store merchandise safely and accessibly.
• Maintain accurate records of received and shipped merchandise, including serial numbers and SKU numbers.
• Communicate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate merchandise handling and distribution.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
