About The Position

The Merchandise/Engagement Coordinator executes receiving and merchandising standards, helps Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively, and supports teamwork. The role contributes to an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck deliveries and prioritizes processing merchandise onto the sales floor; trains and mentors Associates on merchandising and processing principles; and monitors team productivity, coaching as needed. The role also organizes and rotates back stock, maintains merchandising, signage, backroom cleanliness and recovery standards, and ensures merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded. The Coordinator communicates priorities and progress with management and Associates, partners with Management on training needs, and helps ensure compliance with labor laws, policies, procedures, recycling and hazardous-waste programs, and safety requirements. The role also supports store shrink-reduction goals and promotes credit and loyalty programs. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Execute receiving and merchandising standards while supporting efficient, effective processing and teamwork.
Engage and interact with customers, maintain a clean and organized store, and model exceptional customer service.
Promote a positive customer experience and a culture of honesty and integrity; maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck deliveries and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards, along with backroom organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates; provide progress updates.
Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs and support store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
