About The Position

The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The coordinator orchestrates truck delivery and merchandise processing, trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, and helps ensure merchandise, back stock, signage, and the backroom meet company standards. The role communicates priorities and progress with management and Associates, partners with management on training needs, and supports compliance, safety, shrink reduction, credit, and loyalty programs. Other duties may be assigned. The position is at TJ Maxx Store 1090 in Santa Rosa, California. The starting pay range is $19.21 to $19.71 per hour; actual pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Execute receiving and merchandising standards while ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team.
Engage and interact with customers, maintain a clean and organized store, and role-model exceptional customer service.
Promote a positive internal and external customer experience and a culture of honesty and integrity; maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards, along with backroom organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates, and provide progress updates.
Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
