About The Position

The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck delivery and merchandise processing, trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, and helps ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded. The role coordinates the flow of goods to the sales floor, organizes back stock, and upholds merchandising, signage, backroom cleanliness, safety, and compliance standards. The position also supports store priorities, Associate development, shrink reduction, and credit and loyalty programs.

Requirements

Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Execute receiving and merchandising standards and help ensure Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team.
Engage and interact with customers, maintain a clean and organized store, and model exceptional customer service.
Promote a positive internal and external customer experience and a culture of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support the efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy, signage standards, and backroom organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
