About The Position

The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards while helping Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck delivery and merchandise processing, mentors Associates, monitors productivity, and coordinates merchandise flow to the sales floor. The position also supports store safety, shrink reduction, credit and loyalty programs, and compliance with policies and applicable labor laws. The role is based at Marshalls Store 1005, 6806 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, Tennessee. Starting pay is USD $14.50 to $15.00 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Requirements

One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience and model exceptional customer service.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing merchandise processing onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
