About The Position

The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, a clean and organized store, and exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck deliveries and prioritizes processing merchandise onto the sales floor; trains and mentors Associates on merchandising and processing principles; ensures merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded; coordinates the flow of goods with the Coordinator on Duty; and monitors task completion and team productivity. The role also organizes back stock, maintains merchandising and signage standards, and upholds backroom organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards. Additional duties include ensuring compliance with recycling and applicable hazardous waste programs, communicating priorities and progress to management and Associates, partnering with management on training needs, adhering to labor laws and company policies, promoting credit and loyalty programs, supporting shrink-reduction goals, and promoting a safe environment. Other duties may be assigned. The role is based at a HomeGoods store in El Paso, Texas, and has a starting pay range of $14.00 to $14.50 per hour.

Requirements

At least 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote a culture of honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure an efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
