About The Position

The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience through engaging with customers and following customer experience principles. The role maintains a clean, organized, and safe store environment while adhering to operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention standards. Associates may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The position also supports store culture, customer transactions, credit and loyalty programs, merchandise processing, store recovery, and shrink-reduction efforts.

Responsibilities

• Engage and interact with customers while modeling established customer experience practices for internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Ring customer purchases and returns accurately, and count change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Uphold the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and help maintain the cleanliness of the entire store.
• Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
• Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
