About The Position

The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The associate adheres to operational, merchandise, safety, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role includes cashiering, merchandising, processing merchandise, store recovery, and supporting a positive store culture. The position is at TJ Maxx Store 0406 in Escondido, California, and has a starting pay range of $16.90 to $17.40 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Model established customer experience practices when interacting with internal and external customers.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and provide the correct change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and help maintain the entire store.
Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
