About The Position

The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The role follows operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained across multiple store areas to support business needs. Associates contribute to a positive store culture and support the store’s merchandising, recovery, safety, and shrink-reduction goals.

Responsibilities

• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Uphold the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards, and participate in maintaining the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
