About The Position

The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and keeping the store clean and organized. The role adheres to operational, merchandise, loss prevention, labor, and safety standards. Associates may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The position involves assisting customers and processing purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, preparing merchandise for the sales floor, maintaining merchandising standards, and participating in store recovery and cleanliness. Associates also support store culture, shrink-reduction goals, safety awareness, and effective teamwork. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

Role-model customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
Maintain organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and participate in maintaining the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
