Who We Think Would Be a Great Fit Skills / Responsibilities As a primary member of our MEP Component Team: MEP Design Consultants that are part of Beck projects will see stronger integration and more positive project experiences through early involvement of Beck’s in-house MEP Component Teams and SME’s. As a primary member of our MEP Component Team, this role works with Beck projects to identify risks, improve coordination, support budgeting, and ensure alignment from early design through construction. The Beck MEP Component Team engages Beck Architecture on all projects during concept and schematic design, and/or until MEP design consultants are hired to help identify likely MEP risks and coordination challenges unique to each project. Prior to MEP design consultants being hired, the MEP Component Team is responsible for: Creation of Design Narratives Early stage MEP reviews beginning at Concept and continuing into Schematic Design. Preliminary MEP budgeting and infrastructure planning Identification of major MEP risks Onboarding and transfer of project knowledge to the projects Engineers of Record. Early infrastructure reviews for renovation and remodel projects to include facility condition assessments, loads and capacity, and code compliance of existing systems before Architectural scope and project budgets are finalized. Conduct comprehensive peer reviews of mechanical design documents at various stages (SD, DD, CD) to identify design gaps, code compliance issues, and constructability concerns. Analyze mechanical systems to propose cost-saving alternatives that maintain or improve performance and lifecycle value without sacrificing design intent. Manage the interface between external MEP consultants and our internal pre-construction and operations teams. Analyze and level mechanical subcontractor bids, identify "gotchas" or gaps to ensure 100% scope coverage and proactively eliminate future change orders. Provide high-level technical support to Project Managers and Superintendents during the installation and commissioning phases. Analyze schematics for "constructability," ensuring that equipment clearances, maintenance access, and routing are feasible within the physical constraints of the structure. Review subcontractor bids and scopes to ensure all mechanical and plumbing requirements are captured, preventing future change orders. Act as the primary technical resource for field teams to resolve complex RFI (Request for Information) issues and MEP conflicts in real-time.. Balancing the needs of the design team (intent) with the needs of the GC (budget and schedule). Assist Beck project teams with project commissioning activities
